An exquisite piece of Qinzhou Nixing ceramic in the plump, auspicious Xishi teapot form, handcrafted by artisan Truong Tan Hoa. The "Lotus" motif is carved with fine precision, bringing a serene beauty to the tea table.
Made from the clay characteristic of the Qinzhou region and fired at high temperature, it develops a smooth surface with a natural sheen that needs no glaze. Nixing ceramic is famous for holding the fragrance of tea, and the longer it is used (seasoned), the richer and more lustrous the body becomes, glossy as jade.
Under the skilled hand of artisan Truong Tan Hoa, a lotus blossom in full bloom is meticulously carved into the dark ceramic ground. The incised lines create a striking contrast that brings out the noble purity of the lotus – the symbol of serenity in the tea ceremony.
• The Xishi shape, with its rounded body, gives the tea leaves room to unfurl and release their full flavour and aroma.
• The characteristic short spout gives a strong pour and a clean cut-off.
• The 14-hole filter, made painstakingly by hand, strains out fine leaf particles for a perfectly clear liquor.
• Capacity: 225ml – the perfect size for a tea table of 3-4 people.
