Ám Hương Thu Vận (The Subtle Fragrance of Autumn) is a deeply poetic work by the artisan Hoàng Kiện. The teapot not only brews tea superbly but also carries the character of a gentleman: composed, profound and refined. Rendered in classic zini clay, every line of the pot conveys solidity while remaining soft, evoking the stillness of an autumn afternoon spent over tea.
Zini clay: The most classic clay of the Yixing region, highly breathable and excellent at retaining heat. Zini rounds out the flavour of the tea and softens any harshness, making it especially suited to heavily fermented teas such as pu-erh and red tea (hong cha) or aged oolong.
An elegant silhouette: The name "Ám Hương Thu Vận" is echoed in a classically inspired design of soft, rounded lines, with handle and spout proportioned by the golden ratio for perfect balance in the hand and in the pour.
A finely made plum-blossom filter: The plum-blossom filter is made by hand with evenly spaced holes, giving a fast, strong and remarkably smooth pour that never clogs with tea leaves.
The artisan's mark: The piece bears the hand-stamped seal of the artisan Hoàng Kiện – a craftsman of exacting technique in both clay preparation and shaping, which guarantees its beauty and its lasting value to collectors.
