Jizhi is one of the teapot shapes in the Yixing zisha family built on a sturdy upright form — robust, elegant, and optimised for heat retention. The work's distinctive artistic touch lies in the skilful integration of the zhujie (bamboo joint) motif into the handle, the spout and the lid knob.
Every imitation-bamboo detail is crafted with painstaking care, vividly reproducing the natural knots and internodes of the plant. In tea culture, bamboo is the emblem of the noble gentleman — steadfast, upright, and unbending in spirit. The pairing of a firmly planted upright shape with the bamboo-joint motif not only heightens the pot's plain, antique beauty but also carries auspicious feng shui meaning, signifying good fortune and steadiness in the face of every storm.
The teapot is made from raw zini (purple clay) ore from the Yixing region. This is the classic clay so prized by tea drinkers, thanks to its distinctive double-pore structure:
Outstanding heat retention and breathability: Keeps the tea from stewing or turning harsh, preserving the full freshness of the leaf across many infusions. The 230ml capacity is ideal for drinking alone, with one companion, or in a small group of 2 – 4 people.
Softens the water, mellows the tea: The rich natural mineral content of zini interacts with the tea liquor, taking the edge off any coarseness and leaving it softer, sweeter on the finish and more full-bodied. The longer this clay is seasoned and steeped in tea vapour, the more it takes on a warm, lustrous glow like a treasured antique.

Balance and function: The cylindrical body is perfectly symmetrical. The bamboo-joint handle curves gently for an easy grip. The spout tapers proudly straight, giving a slender, powerful stream and a clean cut-off with no dribbling. The lid sits so snugly that even a steep pouring angle brings no risk of leakage at the rim.
Smart 14-hole filter: Inside the pot is a 14-hole filter, meticulously drilled in parallel, letting the liquor flow through very quickly and evenly with no clogging by spent leaves.
