One of the celebrated "Four Great Ceramics" of China, made from the distinctive clay of the Qin River region.
Character: Fired at high temperature, the ceramic is as hard and dense as steel, and rings with a clear metallic note when lightly tapped.
Colour: A subdued reddish-brown liver tone, with a naturally smooth unglazed surface. The more the pot is seasoned with tea, the glossier and richer it becomes.
Made entirely by hand by the master craftsman Zeng Shijun.
Every detail, from the carved lines to the precision of the lid's fit, is finished to an exquisite standard, giving the piece high collector value.
Features: A low cylindrical body with flat shoulders and a flat lid that seats perfectly flush with the rim
Front: An incised lotus motif (lotus flower and rhizome) accented with small swimming fish, symbolising purity of spirit and a serene, unfettered life.
Back: The calligraphic inscription "He Qi Zhi Xiang" (和氣致祥) — "harmony brings good fortune" — picked out in elegant gold.
Meaning: A reminder that harmony and composure are what lead to good luck and auspicious things.
A large-capacity pot (for group brewing), well suited to tea sessions with 4 to 6 guests.
The roomy interior gives large-leaf teas (such as Shan Tuyet and pu-erh) enough space to open up fully and release their aroma.
What sets this pot apart is its strainer of up to 31 holes, drilled by hand and remarkably substantial.
Standout advantages: Very fast pouring, a strong smooth stream and optimal filtering of leaf debris, for the clearest possible cup.
With its dense ceramic body and large capacity, the pot is ideal for: pu-erh, red tea, ancient-tree Shan Tuyet or aged teas
