1. Teapot shape: Han Da (Plum Blossom variation)

• Features: The Han Da shape has a bold, solid character, with a slightly tapered cylindrical body, clearly defined shoulders and a wide base. It is the shape that stands for poise and integrity.

• Decoration: Plum blossoms are applied in relief or finely carved into the body of the pot. The delicate petals set against the sturdy form of the pot create a harmonious whole, balancing the hard and the soft.

• Meaning: The plum blossom heralds spring and stands for purity, endurance and the wish that all things go as you desire.

2. Clay: Da Hong Pao

• A rare clay of the red clay (Hong Ni) family, distinguished by its radiant red colour and very fine texture.

• Properties: Excellent heat retention and a strong ability to carry aroma. Da Hong Pao clay keeps the tea liquor "fresh" and brings out the highest, purest notes of the leaf.

• Seasoning: The longer it is used, the smoother and glossier the pot becomes, its red deepening into a warm, lustrous tone like a precious stone.
