The rarest of the red clays (zhuni) in the zisha family, celebrated for its brilliant, warm orange-red colour and its wonderfully rich sheen.
Properties: A dense, fine-grained body with a high degree of vitrification, and excellent heat conduction and heat retention.
Advantages: This clay reflects tea aroma superbly, bringing out in particular the deep fragrance and the glowing liquor colour of fine teas. The longer it is used, the more the pot develops a patina, smooth and glossy as red jade.
