PRODUCT DETAILS: THANH TUYEN ZISHA TEAPOT – DEER AND FLOWER MOTIF

1. Teapot shape: Thanh Tuyen

• A classic shape with soft, rounded contours that evoke the lightness of a clear mountain stream (Thanh Tuyen).

• The body is of moderate height and the wide ring handle keeps the pot balanced and easy to handle when pouring.

• The high domed lid echoes the line of the body, giving a tight seal and excellent heat retention.

2. Motif: Linh Loc (auspicious deer) & orchid

• The deer: A sika deer painted entirely by hand, remarkably lively and full of character. In East Asian culture the deer is a symbol of longevity, good fortune and prosperity (Loc).

• The orchid: Beside it stands a spray of pure orchid, symbolising the refined grace of the noble scholar.

• Hand-painting technique: Painting in colour on zisha clay demands great skill, so that the colours do not fade and stay crisp after firing.

3. Clay: Dahongpao

• A premium red clay with a warm orange-red tone, a dense fine texture and a high degree of vitrification.

• Character: Outstanding aroma retention, bringing out the full, rich fragrance of fine teas. The longer it is used, the more the surface takes on a jade-like sheen.

4. Maker: artisan Zhang Ling

• Made and hand-painted by the artisan Zhang Ling, which makes it a wholly handcrafted, one-of-a-kind piece.

• Every stroke of the deer and the flowers bears its own mark; no two pots are ever exactly alike.

5. Capacity: 180ml

• An ideal size for drinking tea alone or as a pair (1-2 people).

• This capacity keeps the tea piping hot and preserves the fullest flavour through every infusion.

6. Filter: honeycomb (ball filter)

• A hemispherical filter pierced by hand with a great many tiny holes.

• Function: A strong, smooth, unobstructed pour. The tea reaches the cup perfectly clear and completely free of leaf debris.

• Especially good for: oolong, Tieguanyin, Wuyi rock tea or black tea.

• The heat retention of Dahongpao clay draws out the tea's aroma to the full.
