The Sengmao teapot shape: This is one of the most difficult shapes to craft in the art of zisha, modelled on the shape of the cap worn by high-ranking Buddhist monks. Its defining traits are a tall neck and a finely tiered lid, which demand extremely precise forming technique and calculation of proportions.
Da Hong Pao clay: One of the rarest clays in the zisha family, with a brilliant, warm red tone. Da Hong Pao clay has a high degree of vitrification, which makes it retain heat exceptionally well and bring out the distinctive aroma of the tea — especially premium oolongs and Wuyi rock teas.
Made by artisan Chen Chunfang: Every line on the pot is shaped and refined by hand with great care, showing the artisan's own signature and the "spirit" they bring to handling the intricate angles of the Sengmao form.
