Rustic, natural beauty: The Taihu form draws inspiration from the famous Taihu stones, renowned for their majestic, angular beauty that is nonetheless utterly soft, worn smooth by water over time. The body carries deliberately rugged contours, sweeping in free, flowing curves in the artful naturalistic style (huahua).
Unique and one of a kind: This form demands a highly refined aesthetic sense and extremely skilled hands, so that the pot keeps the rough, sinewy character of ancient stone while still achieving the balance and refinement of a premium tea vessel.
Rare clay: Made from unblended raw Jiangpo Ni (降坡泥) – a special clay discovered in the 1990s at Yixing. It is a natural blend of hongni, zini and duanni, producing a warm orange-red tone shading into a refined purple-brown.
