1. The classic Duo Zhi form and the hand of artisan Wang Tianxue

• The thinking behind the Duo Zhi form: it echoes a sphere set within a sphere (pearls strung on a thread) — the body full and round, the shoulder tapered, and a crisply cut neck that gives the pot balance, poise and presence on the tea table.

• The artisan's hand: this work by artisan Wang Tianxue is refined in every detail, from the domed lid running unbroken into the body and the proudly curved spout to the full ear-shaped handle; the base and the lid both carry crisp seals, vouching for the value of the handwork and for its long-term collectability.

• Visual appeal: every rounded line is taut and smooth, giving the pot a classical, dignified air that is nonetheless light.

2. The classic character of Zi Ni and superb performance (220ml, honeycomb filter)

• Restrained Zi Ni clay: a plain purple-brown tone flecked with natural zisha mineral grains; the clay is finely porous and rich in iron, which holds heat for a long time and softens the tea, taking off much of the astringency. The more it is seasoned, the more the Zi Ni surface deepens into a warm, jade-like gloss.

• A honeycomb filter with a very strong flow: the honeycomb holes are drilled by hand, perfectly even and closely set, so the filter both keeps the leaf out and builds the pressure for a full, quiet stream that cuts off in an instant.

• An optimal 220ml: the roomy interior lets the leaf open out naturally, which is ideal for a tea table receiving 3–5 guests; it goes particularly well with shou pu-erh, Shan Tuyet ancient-tree tea, black tea and Wuyi rock tea.
