The base measures 37cm x 20cm.
It refills automatically when the water in the kettle runs low and cuts the water off automatically when the kettle is full, so there is no risk of overflow; lifting the kettle off its base switches the power off automatically, removing any latent risk of electric shock.
The kettle body and the sterilising pot are made of high-borosilicate glass, which gives the product the hardness and clarity of crystal and withstands sudden temperature swings from -30°C to 150°C, so there is no risk of cracking when it goes from hot to cold. The glass is safe and pure, and it also lets you watch whatever is being heated inside the pot.
The base the kettle sits on is made of heat-resistant PTFE plastic, fully insulating and able to withstand a sustained 260°C without deforming. The upper surface that meets the kettle is also fitted with a fairly thick layer of tempered glass, which insulates well, makes the product sturdier and makes it easier to clean — a wipe with a damp cloth is enough.
The contacts in the base that meet the kettle are recessed inside and only live when the kettle is placed on the base; lifting the kettle off cuts the power automatically, removing any latent risk of electric shock. Underneath the base is a noiseless heat-dissipation unit with numerous vents; this clever design keeps the heating element from overheating, so there is no worry of the product being damaged by prolonged heat.
Automatic control system: a single press of the touch key takes care of the whole boil-and-steep cycle, and you can set the temperature and steeping time however you like. In particular, if the water level in the kettle drops too low it cuts the power on its own, completely eliminating the risk of heating the kettle dry — extremely safe.
