1. It gives every cup the same flavour
Once the tea has steeped in the pot, the liquor is stronger at the bottom than at the top. Poured straight into the cups, the first and the last drinker get different tastes. The pitcher lets you empty the pot completely and then divide the tea evenly among the cups, so every cup tastes the same.
2. It keeps the tea from stewing (over-steeping)
If the pot is not emptied after brewing, the leaves go on steeping in hot water, turning the tea harsh and bitter and stripping its aroma. The pitcher ends the steeping at the right moment.
