Việt Long Trà is a shop selling fine oolong tea in Da Nang. A showroom of premium oolong tea, guaranteeing a fresh, fragrant flavour and healthy tea drinking

Phone 0939222522, which is also the Zalo number. Call ahead if you are after something specific: the two branches do not always carry the same stock, and that goes double for teapots and teaware, where every piece is one of a kind.
What is on the shelves
Oolong is the shop's main line, and it runs wide rather than deep in one sort: Taiwanese high-mountain oolong, Jin Xuan, Tie Guan Yin, aged oolong, and at the far end of the oxidation range, oolong red tea. Beside it sit Thái Nguyên green tea, white tea, and pu-erh in both sheng and shou.
In the shop
The other half of the shop is teaware: Yixing clay teapots, Nixing ceramic teapots from Qinzhou, cups, gaiwan, tea pitchers, trays and water kettles. It takes up more room than you would expect — in the photo of the shelves, most of what you see is teapots rather than tea.
Taste it before you buy
This is the reason to come in person rather than order online. On paper every oolong reads the same — "fragrant, with a sweet finish"; sit down and drink two cups and they part company from the first sip.
The shop has a tea table and brews samples for guests, particularly if you are buying in quantity. If you are torn between two or three, just say what you normally drink — strong tea or light, morning or evening — and try them side by side. Choosing that way is faster than reading labels.
Tea as a gift
Tea travels easily and suits almost any recipient, which is why it is the thing visitors buy most. The shop keeps ready-packed gift boxes and will also put a box together to order if you want to choose the tea inside.
One note for anyone carrying tea a long way: oolong minds damp and stray smells far more than it minds time. Leave it in its foil pouch, do not open it and split it up at the hotel, and do not pack it beside anything with a scent.
